Victoria Walsh is a writer with a passion for people stories. A linguist and communications professional by background, Victoria has always enjoyed writing, and engaging with people from all walks of life.
Having studied French and German at Cambridge University, Victoria embarked on a career in international communications. She began at Public Relations consultancy Bell Pottinger, in London. There, she worked for British and international clients, ranging from charities to heads of state. She then attempted to realise a dream of joining the Intelligence Corps of the British Army and was accepted to train as an officer at the Royal Military Academy, Sandhurst. Unfortunately, ill health meant that she couldn’t complete the course. However, she soon found a new dream job, with former client Shell, at their Hague HQ. Victoria enjoyed fourteen hard-working, fascinating years with Shell. She developed expertise in Community Relations and Communications, and she travelled the world, from Louisiana to Lagos.
These days, Victoria lives in rural Wiltshire, where she was inspired to write her first book. 'Unbelievable! A Working Country Life' is a humorous countryside biography, written in dialect. From this, Victoria caught the writing bug, and she hasn’t looked back since. She is now delighted to be launching her second biography: ‘The Story of Rena Stewart: Bletchley Park Girl, Translator of Hitler’s Will, and BBC Pioneer’.
In her spare time, Victoria swims, hikes and runs ‘Vocalia’, a fabulous choir of female former choristers.
